All Apple Stores in Michigan have closed due to surge of COVID-19 cases
What you need to know
- Apple has announced that all of its retail stores in Michigan are closing.
- Customers with online orders or a repair can still pick things up through the weekend.
After a brief stint of all Apple Stores being open again in the United States, Apple is reclosing all of its retail locations in the state of Michigan.
As reported by Michigan Live, the company has closed all six of its Apple Stores indefinitely as of Friday, April 16th in response to a surge in COVID-19 cases in the state. Apple released a statement saying that it was taking the measure "with an abundance of caution."
The following stores are impacted by the closures:
- Apple Briarwood in Ann Arbor
- Apple Partridge Creek in Clinton Township
- Apple Woodland in Grand Rapids
- Apple Eastwood Towne Center in Lansing
- Apple Twelve Oaks in Novi
- Apple Somerset in Troy
The company has said that customers with online pickup orders or those picking up a repaired device can still do so through the weekend.
Apple's moves here echo a ton of other instances where it had temporarily shut down retail locations due to a rise in COVID-19 cases. Reopening the stores will most likely occur once the current situation in Michigan sees improvement.
