Apple is looking to open its first brand-new retail location in the United States since September of last year.
In the latest edition of his Tabletops newsletter, Michael Steeber reported that the company is now hiring for a new Apple Store location in East Rutherford, New Jersey. According to his report, it will be the first brand-new location for the company in the country since Apple opened Apple The Mall at Bay Plaza in the Bronx in September of last year.
Apple Stores in the United States have been slow to expand in the United States as of late. That is partly due to the COVID-19 pandemic, of course. The company has also been choosing to remodel or relocate stores that are older. It has also closed a couple of stores are opening new locations near current ones.
Thankfully, with any of those moves, the company has maintained its existing staff or offered to relocate retail employees to other stores in a nearby location.
It's currently unclear when Apple's new location in New Jersey will open to the public.
