What you need to know

  • Apple has shared its latest Shot on iPhone campaign on Instagram.
  • The campaign features High Key Mono portrait photos of pets from photographer Jason Nocito.
  • Nocito is also hosting a virtual Today at Apple session to teach you how to photograph your pets.

Apple has commissioned a new photography collection that features something that all of us love: pets.

The new commission, which features both cats and dogs (at least on the Instagram post), uses the iPhone camera's High Key Mono effect to showcase the animals in a stark new way.

Commissioned by Apple. The black and white simplicity of High Key Mono can transform the absurd into elegance."You're always seeing pets, and they're funny. They're funny pictures, but these pictures are kinda serious when you think about it. But also hilarious." #ShotoniPhone by Jason N. @jason_nocito_studio

Join photographer Jason Nocito in a live virtual session and learn how to create #ShotoniPhone-worthy portraits of your pets. He'll share tips for capturing your pet's attention and their energy — even in motion. We'll explore Portrait mode, High-Key Light Mono, and more using iPhone. Have your pet nearby or bring your favorite photos from your Camera Roll.

Virtual Studio: Pet Portraits with Jason Nocito will kick off on Thursday, July 29th from 12:00 p.m. – 1:00 p.m. EDT. You can sign up to attend the training on the Today at Apple website. Apple says that the session will be sign language supported as well.
