Billie Eilish teases 'Happier Than Ever' in Apple Music Spatial Audio
What you need to know
- Billie Eilish has published a new "Happier Than Ever" video to her YouTube channel.
- The new video partners with Apple Music and teases its Spatial Audio feature.
Apple Music has partnered up with Billie Eilish to promote the streaming service's new Spatial Audio feature.
The new video, which Eilish posted to her official YouTube channel, teases how the new album, which was released on July 30, 2021, becomes a different experience entirely in Dolby Atmos.
Spatial Audio is Apple Music's new feature that allows artists to release their songs in Dolby Atmos. Mixed in this new way, listeners can hear sounds come from all directions rather than just traditional stereo which plays in just left and right.
Apple originally launched Spatial Audio alongside Lossless Audio in May. The company added both features to Apple Music at no additional cost to subscribers.
The feature has received mixed reviews so far, but the issues appear to be with songs that were not mixed well for the new format. Just today, John Mayer announced that he has re-released his new "Sob Rock" album in Atmos after removing it initially.
