What you need to know

  • Pokémon UNITE is a free-to-play MOBA where players team up to earn their victories.
  • The developers are continuously balancing the game and adding new characters and events, including the upcoming winter-themed event.
  • To celebrate the festive season, Dragonite is joining the Pokémon UNITE roster.

Pokémon UNITE continues to receive support, keeping fans of its quick gameplay style continuously engaged. After the teaser trailer for Tsareena released, the developers have now announced that the Dragon/Flying type Pokémon, Dragonite, is coming to the game's roster as well.

While Tsareena joins the fray on December 9, Dragonite's Unite license won't be coming along until December 20, 2021. Dragonite knows powerful moves like Dragon Breath, Outrage, and Draco Impact, making it a good melee all-rounder. New Holowear will also come alongside the winter holiday season, for characters like Dragonite, Mr. Mime, Pikachu, Crustle, and Snorlax. Trainers can look forward to new outfits as well, keeping in line with the festive spirit.

The game is set to undergo maintenance from 1:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. PT, presumably to put up all the holiday decorations around the area and get things going.

Afterwards, however, players can expect to look forward to a new quick-battle map, new challenges starting December 15, and special log-in gifts starting on December 24 until the New Year. Get out there, don your most festive hat and win some games!
