For the uninitiated Exploding Kittens is a goofy card game that's part hot-potato, part Russian Roulette. An Exploding Kitten is hidden somewhere in the deck and players must draw cards from the deck until someone pulls the Exploding Kitten and explodes (what else did you expect?) Players must avoid, move, and defuse the Exploding Kitten to survive. The last player standing wins.
Originally starting its life as a Kickstarter project led by former Xbox Game Designer Elan Lee and Illustrator Matthew Inman, Exploding Kittens went on to become the most-backed Kickstarter project in Kickstarter History, raising 8.7 million dollars after initially only seeking $10k. The card game has since sold over 11 million copies.
Since the creation of Exploding Kittens, the team has gone on to create over a dozen other card games and Exploding Kittens expansion packs. Exploding Kittens also made the jump to the mobile platforms, and is still one of the top 30 premium games for both iOS and Android.
Exploding Kittens on the Switch makes a lot of sense and is another great addition to the Nintendo Switch's multiplayer library. Exploding Kittens is available on the Nintendo Switch eShop for $10.
