Apple has confirmed that "some users" are having issues with its iCloud Mail service at the moment. While the company isn't saying exactly what "intermittent issues" users are having, it does say that it began a couple of hours ago and that not all users are impacted.
Twitter is already full of people complaining about the outage, with users receiving an error when trying to check their mail.

Apple is clearly aware of the issue so it should only be a matter of time before service is resumed. If you're impacted, there isn't much you can do other than sit tight and maybe treat yourself to another coffee or three.
