iFixit has released a video teardown of Apple's new 3rd generation AirPods and Beats Fit Pro wireless earbuds.
In the video, the outlet does a complete teardown and repairability check of both earbuds. They also take a closer look at the hardware that enables Spatial Audio in the 3rd generation AirPods.
You can check out the video below:
iFixit says that it is virtually impossible to not only replace the battery in either set of earbuds but that it is also almost impossible to put either earbud back together once you have opened them up.
As per usual with a lot of Apple products, iFixit has given both the 3rd generation AirPods and Beats Fit Pro a 0 out of 10 for a repairability score.
Bottom line: With better battery life, a completely new design, new features like Spatial Audio, and an IPX4 rating, the AirPods 3 are better than ever before. Plus, they sound better than the previous models and other than ANC, have pretty much all the same features as the AirPods Pro. These are fantastic AirPods for anyone looking to upgrade or buy their first pair.
