Once you get started in the world of Philips Hue smart lights, it's a whole new experience. With a tap, you are in complete control of all the lights in your home. The Philips Hue Dimmer Switch is a fantastic way to control your Hue smart lights; it offers you the ability to switch between four preset lighting scenes or to, of course, dim your lights. Philips includes it in a lot of its lighting starter kits so if you were lucky enough to have one, then you're probably looking for what you can connect to it next. Well, we've gathered some pretty great options for you to consider.
Add some color
Most starter kits with the Dimmer Switch don't include any color bulbs so this will spice things up a bit. With access to up to 16 million colors, there's a lot to get excited about here.
Fancy and colorful
This also has access to the 16 million colors that Philips Hue is known for, but it's better suited to your ceiling fans and chandeliers.
Get creative
The LightStrip Plus is a really cool way to get creative with your lights. It's thin and flexible and is perfect for mounting on cabinets, behind TVs, or just about anywhere else. It also provides plenty of light at 1,600 lumens.
On the go
Philips Hue Go has all the best part of the Hue lights experience in a portable package. This self-contained lamp has a physical button that lets you cycle through preset lighting modes or you can sync it up with the app for even more control. It's a great little lamp to carry with you wherever you are in the house.
Tap your scene
This is the cousin of the Dimmer Switch. In place of being able to dim the lights, the Tap Switch includes Apple HomeKit functionality while also removing the need for batteries. You can also swap through four preset light scenes using the physical buttons.
Control with Alexa
One of the best things about the Hue lights is that they are completely compatible with Alexa, giving you full control over them with just your voice. If you don't yet have an Echo somewhere in your house, this is the most recent model. It's all the great things about the original Echo, but better.
A smaller Echo
The Echo Dot will do all of the things that the Echo can do at half the price. If you don't need the larger speaker or you need something a bit smaller, this is absolutely the Echo for you.
Philips Hue has built an extremely robust and versatile ecosystem of smart lights and is one of the most trusted brands on the market. While the Dimmer Switch is a great place to get started, there are a wide range of devices you can add to your collection. My personal favorite is the Hue Go because it can sync up with my music, movies, and video games to give me a more enjoyable experience. Not to mention I can take it anywhere I go.
