The first two animals that were revealed from the collection were none other than Isabelle and Tom Nook, both dressed in their island attire. While they sold out almost immediately, fans weren't too happy with what was offered by the collection.
This comes just after the recent rollout of the Animal Crossing: New Horizon Sanrio cards, which was met with fan ire, with many reporting low stock numbers and availability. As of now, there's been no mention of a restock from Nintendo.
With hundreds of animals to choose from, the question remains — which of Animal Crossing's furry villagers will be available in the collection? K.K. Slider? Blathers? Or perhaps one of the many viral villagers who developed an online following?
There's no shortage of Animal Crossing: New Horizons's merchandise. In addition to the Animal Crossing amiibo line, there are also Animal Crossing amiibo cards that are compatible with the main game. Scanning an amiibo or an amiibo card can bring that specific animal to your island, or make them available to use in Photopia, Animal Crossing: New Horizon's photo island.
Animal Crossing: New Horizons' has been a huge hit for the Nintendo Switch, quickly becoming the second best-selling game on the system and one of the best games on the system. The game is still receiving monthly updates that coincide with real-world events. The most recent update marked the return of Bunny Day, Animal Crossing's version of Easter.
