Outlook iPhone and iPad users can now open Office attachments in Word, Excel and PowerPoint
Outlook users on the iPhone and iPad that also use Microsoft's iOS Office apps (Word, Excel and PowerPoint) will have some tighter integration features from now on. Microsoft has announced that Outlook users can now open Office documents sent as attachments directly in their respective iOS apps, rather than just view them in special readers.
Microsoft stated:
In addition, once changes are made to an Office document after opening them first in Outlook, the user can then tap the Back button to return to Outlook. The newly-edited Office document is then automatically added the Outlook email as a replay attachment. Finally, the Word, Excel and PowerPoint apps now include a "Send with Outlook" option in the "Share" menu.
