Two mythical Pokémon that are usually only obtainable through Mystery Gift distributions or special events, Mew and Jirachi, are available for Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl players, under the right conditions. If the player has save data for Pokémon Let's Go Pikachu! or Let's Go Eevee! on their Nintendo Switch, they can receive Mew from a woman in Floaroma Town.

Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl players with save data for Pokémon Sword or Shield can receive the mythical Pokémon Jirachi, who first made its appearance in Pokémon Ruby and Sapphire. The method to obtain Jirachi is the same as Mew, except a man in Floaroma Town will give the player the mythical creature instead.

The Pokémon Company is rarely this generous with its mythical Pokémon, so many players who invested time in previous Pokémon games can find joy in having their efforts recognised. There's no word on whether distribution events will happen for players who did not purchase previous titles, but we'll be sure to update you if that happens.
