Pokémon Go: Weather Week Event Guide
As the Charge Up! event concludes in Pokémon Go, another event is kicking off. Weather Week is the first of its kind for Pokémon Go and will see Pokémon who are normally boosted during Rain and Windy Weather Conditions appearing more often in the Wild, Eggs, Research, and Raids. This event begins March 24, 2021 and will conclude on March 29. What is Weather Week in Pokémon Go?
Rainy form Castform's Shiny variant, which up until now has only been available in Pokémon HOME, will also be making its Pokémon Go debut!
Wild spawns during Weather Week in Pokémon Go
During the first half of the event, the following Pokémon that enjoy Rain will be appearing more in the wild:
- Castform*
- Parasect
- Psyduck*
- Poliwag*
- Vaporeon
- Lotad*
- Surskit
- Croagunk*
- Shelmet
- Stunfisk
During the second half of the event, the following Pokémon that enjoy Wind will be appearing more in the wild:
- Skarmory*
- Taillow*
- Wingull*
- Pidove*
- Ducklett
Pokémon with the potential to be Shiny are indicated with an asterisk.

Field Research during Weather Week in Pokémon Go
- Catch five Flying type Pokémon for a Swablu encounter.
- Catch seven Flying, Psychic, or Dragon type Pokémon for a Rainy form Castform* encounter.
- Catch seven Water, Electric, or Bug type Pokémon for a Rainy form Castform* encounter.
- Catch seven Water type Pokémon for a Tympole encounter.
Timed Research during Weather Week in Pokémon Go
In the Today View, players can find the following four step Timed Research:
Step One
- Catch ten Water, Electric, or Bug type Pokémon for a Rainy form Castform* encounter.
- Take a Snapshot of a Water type Pokémon for 200 Stardust.
- Send three gifts to Friends for a Psyduck* encounter.
Completion Rewards: Wailmer* encounter, five PokéBalls, 500 Stardust.
Step Two
- Catch 15 Water, Electric, or Bug type Pokémon for a Rainy form Castform encounter.
- Power up a Pokémon seven times for three Pinap Berries.
- Defeat two Team GO Rocket Grunts for a Buizel encounter.
Completion Rewards: Rainy form Castform* encounter, seven PokéBalls, 500 XP.
Step Three
- Catch 15 Psychic, Flying, or Dragon type Pokémon for a Rainy form Castform* encounter.
- Make five Nice Curveball throws for 600 Stardust.
- Earn five hearts with your Buddy Pokémon for a Woobat* encounter.
Completion Rewards: Swellow encounter, ten PokéBalls, 800 XP.
Step Four
- Catch 20 Flying, Psychic, or Dragon type Pokémon for a Rainy form Castform* encounter.
- Make nine Curveball throws in a row for 1,200 Stardust.
- Evolve three Pokémon for a Swablu* encounter.
Completion Rewards: Togetic encounter, 12 PokéBalls, 1,200 XP.
Other bonuses during Weather Week in Pokémon Go
The PokéShop will feature new spring related Avatar Style items. Players will also earn bonus Stardust for catching Weather Boosted Pokémon throughout the event.
