Fresh new information from Jon Prosser says Apple will release the iPad Air for preorders on Friday, October 16, with a launch the following week, Friday 23.
Prosser posted the info shortly after the iPhone 12 event.

We had previously heard Apple would announce the release of the tablet at the iPhone 12 event alongside other products, although this didn't materialize.
